Celestial Soul

O goddess fair, enthroned and seated high
Above my weary head and earth-bound soul
To her ever tender care, entrust I
My fears, regrets, and secret heart be told.
Guard’ian of wisdom generations past
As man with shaking hands craft’d tools with fire
Covet thy lady pure, whose beauty hast
Remained in cultures, love of her inspir’d.
Unearthly sphere, o sweet serenity
Where rests her head, ribbons of gentle light
Shine from her locks to bless humanity
With a reprieve from everlasting night:
Mistress so ghostly, luminous, and fair
Light well my arduous path, render it bare.

Summer Haikus

A sweet summer breeze
Taste of spices on the tongue
Citrus on the vine

Bursting with flavor
Orbs of sunshine to be picked
The gift of the Earth

Night-light, bright-light moon
Cupped in the palm of the hand
The gift of the stars

To children of men
The sky withholds its secrets
But not its blessings
