Self-Confidence

Sometimes I feel

Damaged, unhappy

Forced to kneel

At the feet of those

Who hurt me

But then I see

That I was wrong

Not thinking clearly

I am stronger

Than they are

I get off the ground

Dust myself off

Success bound

I am better than this,

They know that

Clouds of breath

Fading from sight

Stars shining bright

Footsteps on the ground

Light, rhythmic pattern

Echoes of sound

Silence all around

The hush'd, lonely earth

Dim now, the cradle

Of creation's birth
